Who We Are
The Department of Plant and Soil Sciences provides instruction, research, and outreach for Mississippi State University as well as Mississippi in agronomy, horticulture, and soil science.
Its
curricula focus on the application of sciences to the integrated management
of plants, soil and climate for high quality production of food, fiber
and ornamental plants. Central to this course of study is the dedication
to conserve, maintain and enhance the environment.
Location
Mississippi State University is physically located adjacent to the city of Starkville, Mississippi in the northeastern section of Mississippi.
Our beautiful award-winning campus is home to over 16,000 students and is 23 miles west of Columbus and 125 miles northeast of the capital city of Jackson. Designated as a Doctoral I university by the Southern Regional Education Board, Mississippi State University is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
The Department of Plant and Soil Sciences is located in Dorman Hall on the southwestern edge of campus at the intersection of Creelman St. and Stone Blvd.
