Dorman Hall Gardens

Gardens at Dorman Hall

Dorman Hall was formerly the location of Dudy Noble Field. In 1964, the baseball field was closed to make way for the construction of the building. Dorman Hall houses the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences and the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Entomology and Plant Pathology. Approximately 200 faculty members and graduate and post-doctoral students have offices in Dorman Hall. In addition, Dorman classrooms accommodate approximately 1,000 students daily. View our Gardens

Dorman Greenhouse

Greenhouse at Dorman Hall

In December 1997, the programs that use MSU's campus greenhouses moved into their first new home in 100 years. Located behind Dorman Hall, the facility includes 11,000 square feet of greenhouse space, plus a 6,000 square-foot head house with office, workshop, and classroom space.

North Farm

R. R. Foil Plant Science Research Center

The R. R. Foil Plant Science Research Center, known by many as North Farm, is comprised of approximately 750 acres. This facility includes 550 acres of tillable land for a variety of research projects in a diverse agricultural community. Some examples include: cotton, soybeans, corn, sweet potatoes, grain sorghum, peanuts and many others. Along with tillable acreage, research is performed with turf, ornamentals and aquatic weeds/plants. Visit the website

University Florist

University Florist

Operated by faculty and students of MSU's Floral Management program, the University florist provides hands-on learning in a retail environment. The florist has been providing fresh flowers to generations of bulldogs since 1934. Plus the florist offers gifts including MSU apparel and accessories, McCarty Pottery, gift baskets and more.
